It is hard to believe that summer is here! I hope you are all looking forward to time off to spend with friends and family, and maybe even some travel! After a very busy May at MCOM, I certainly am! We saw a new class of physicians take the Hippocratic Oath and welcomed them to our alumni family, inducted five alumni into Alpha Omega Alpha, elected a new Chair-elect and four new Directors to the MCOM Alumni Society Board, and congratulated one of our own as a USF Alumni Association Young Alumnus.  I am fortunate enough to view all of this from a very privileged seat, and it brings me more joy and gratitude than I can express in these few words. The power of our alumni network is growing stronger each day, and I welcome and encourage you to get involved and join us!

As we look forward toward the end of summer, we will welcome a new class of students. You have an opportunity to impact them by sponsoring their first White Coat. This not only raises scholarship dollars for them but, if you choose, you can also donate to your class scholarship. Tom Shen, an MS2, had this to say,  “having my white coat sponsored made me feel like I and my classmates were cared for by knowing that someone went out of their way to think of and support us. Reading the notes from our sponsors introduced us to the broader MCOM alumni community, which warmed our  hearts.”
