Second-year medical student at the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine, Michael Bougoulias, is following in the footsteps of his alumni parents, Michael and Kimberly Bougoulias, MD '89. In honor of Mother's Day on May 9, Michael is sharing what he loves most about his mom, Kimberly.

Q: What makes your mom a great doctor?

A: My mom has a helping and compassionate heart. She is good at communicating with others and listening to their needs and concerns which is one of the many reasons why she is a great doctor.

Q: What should everybody know about your mom?

A: While she is a fantastic doctor and an even better mother, my mom is also a top notch chef. On of my favorite things about visiting my home is her delicious meals and the food I gratefully take back with me to fuel my studies.

Q: What are some of your mom’s best qualities?

A: My mom is thoughtful, kind, and always there to lend a helping hand. She is a master organizer and planner and maintains a positive mindset. While medical school has not been short on challenges, it is always nice to know that she is thinking of me.
