February brings us Valentine’s Day and, while there is no question its commercial aspect is a bit off the charts, it is a day that reminds us of love and friendship and the warm feelings that come with celebrating, whether it is with your life partner or your best friend. There is no shortage of alumni couples who meet, fall in love, and embark on lifelong journeys together during their time in medical school. I hope you will enjoy meeting two of these couples, each from very different time periods but with experiences and stories that bring life lessons for us all to think about.
I am also excited that we are beginning to return to in-person gatherings, as we are able, and I am optimistic that this trend will continue into the spring. Join us for a USF spring baseball game on March 19 and our Morsani College of Medicine Alumni Society Annual Meeting with a networking happy hour to follow in May (more information to follow). We are actively seeking alumni volunteers to become more involved with the Alumni Society, including those who aspire to leadership roles on our Board. These events are a great opportunity to meet and get to know us – we encourage you to come and bring an alumni buddy with you!
As we all continue to move through and, I hope, past the pandemic, my best wishes to each of you for continued health, happiness, and success!
