Become a College of Medicine Alumni Society Board Member!
The College of Medicine Alumni Society will identify and implement programs to encourage and foster the involvement of medical alumni, students and friends in the life of their alma mater. To accomplish these important tasks, volunteers who are interested in establishing a lasting society are needed as society president, committee chairs and committee members. The list of volunteers will be reviewed at the next alumni society focus group led by Greg and Carolyn Nicolosi on August 11, 2009. The initial board members will be selected from this list of volunteers. If you are looking for a tangible way to give back to the college, please volunteer now.
The College of Medicine Alumni Society and committees are supported by USF Health staff dedicated to alumni relations. The committee chairs will work with the staff to implement the programs. Please volunteer to participate on any of the following committees:
1. Student Programming, Mentorship, and Networking - Devise and implement programs to connect students and alumni in meaningful ways. Identify ways for alumni to interact with each other for professional interests including research.
2. Reunions - Plan reunion events and coordinate calling classmates. Members of the classes with reunions in 2010, 2011 and 2012 are encouraged to volunteer as a chair or member of the committee. Reunion classes celebrate their 35-, 30-, 25-, 20-, 15- and 10-year reunions.
3. Events - Identify and plan regional events and other social gatherings. Encourage attendance.
4. Awards and Recognition - Identify and select alumni, students and faculty who have contributed significantly to the college. Also maintain the history of the college and society.
5. Marketing and Communications - Develop and implement plans for securing new members and direct communications with all alumni.
6. Finance and Fundraising - Devise and implement plans to support the activities of the society.
7. Planning - Led by the alumni society president, the committee chairs will develop the strategic and annual plans for the society.
