The Second Annual Paradise Sports Charity Golf Tournament will benefit research efforts of USF Health Colon and Rectal Surgery, a division that has grown and gained national stature under the direction of colorectal surgeon Jorge Marcet, MD, FACS. The 2010 event will take place on Monday, March 15th at Hunters Green Golf and Country Club in New Tampa. Registration is $150 per player and includes golf (scramble format), cart, skills contests, food and drink all day and more. There will be music and an auction with golf equipment, sports memorabilia, etc. The grand prize is a trip to Arizona to see the Phoenix Open PGA Tournament. Colorectal cancer is the third leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States in men and women, yet it is one of the most preventable cancers. This event will help to raise community awareness during National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month about the importance of colorectal cancer screenings.
