Class Notes 2000-2008

Angela Diane Alfaro, '00, graduated from the Florida Hospital Family Practice Program in Orlando, FL. She is married to Rafael (Max) Alfaro and has four children. She currently lives in Haines City and works at St. Anthony's Primary Care in St. Petersburg.

Connie Keehn, '00, practices dermatopathology at Dermpath Diagnostics, a division of Ameripath in Altamonte Springs, Florida. Her husband Bill and I have two daughters, Zoey (6) and Juliet (4).

Abhi Bharne, '01, currently lives in Los Angeles, CA and is in his 2nd year of pulmonary/critical care fellowship at Cedars-Sinai.
 
Julia (Heekin) Cogburn, '01, lives in Tampa with her husband Matthew Cogburn and one year old daughter, Samantha. She is completing a fellowship in medical oncology at Moffitt Cancer Center.
 

David Eichenbaum, '01, is finishing a Vitreoretinal Surgery fellowship at Tufts New England Eye Center and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. He plans on returning to Florida for practice in the summer of 2007.

Adrian Hamburger, '01, lives in Westerly, RI and has an 18 month old son with his wife Nikki. He is currently the Medical Director of the Westerly Spine and Pain Center.
 
Jesse Jacob, '01, is an Infectious Diseases Fellow at Emory University. He lives in Atlanta, GA with is wife Natasha.
 
Seth Kanowitz, '01, is married to Julia Kanowitz and is about to start at Lachman & Sorvino LLC, Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery in Morristown, NJ.
 
Danny Rosenthal. '01, received a master's degree in Biomedical Informatics and an MPH, then moved to DC where he now lives and is finishing up an Internal Medicine residency.
 
Alex N. Anton, '02, is currently working for the Pediatric Health Care Alliance in Citrus Park.
 

Timothy Boyett, ’02, is a Radiology Resident at UF/Shands in Gainesville, FL.

Christopher Chambers, ’02, is a Vascular Surgery Fellow at Washington University and and will finish his fellowship in July 2008 and take a job in Grand Rapids, MI.

Cheryl A. Kassed, '02, currently lives in Wheaton, Maryland with her husband, Geoffrey Patton, PhD (a 1997 graduate from USF COM, Dept of Pathology) and her four wonderful dogs. Her work focuses on co-occurring substance abuse and mental illness, advances in pharmacology, adolescent brain development, and dementias. Cheryl also has an M.S. in Medical Sciences/Pharmacology from USF COM, and an M.S.P.H. in Environmental and Occupational Health from USF's College of Public Health.
 

Erik Nilssen, ’02, is an Orthopedic Fellow at the American Sports Medicine Insitute in Birmingham, AL.

Alexander Powers, '02, lives with his wife, Kim and three children, John (5), Luke (3), and Millie (1) in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
 
Susannah L. Simone, '02, is a medical director and flight commander pediatrics for the United States Air Force.  She is married and has two children.
 
H. David Scott, '02, is an Assistant Professor of Neuroradiology at UT-Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX.
 
Kristin Johnson Taylor, 02, is an assistant professor of diagnostic radiology at the University of Florida in Jacksonville, FL.  She is married and has one daughter, Summer Taylor (born Oct. 2006).
 
Stephanie Goff Downey, '03, married Sergeant First Class Johnathan Downey April 30, 2006, and has one step-daughter Megan. She is currently living in Washington, D.C. doing a Surgical Oncology and Immunotherapy Fellowship in the Surgery Branch of the National Cancer Institute, part of the National Institutes of Health.
 
Natalie Ann Faith (Brown), '03, is a rheumatologist practicing at the Florida Medical Clinic in Zephyrhills, FL.
 
Leena (Selvaraj) Hancock, '03, lives in Tampa with her husband Dion. She will be joining the faculty at the USF/Morton Plant Mease Family Medicine Program in Clearwater, FL. She is currently completing her residency in Ob/Gyn at USF.
 
Matthew Hudkins, '03, is a Flight Surgeon in the USAF.  He is stationed in Valdosta, Georgia at Moody AFB.
 
Deborah Jensen, ’03, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of OB/GYN at the LSU Health Science Center in Baton Louge, LA.
Celestine Mararac, '03, is the Chief of Internal Medicine at Holloman Air Force Base (49th Fighter Wing) in New Mexico.
Vipul Shah, '03, is married to Kindra and is finishing his Ophthalmology residency at USF in June, 2007. This
will be followed by a fellowship in Cornea and External Diseases at the University of Colorado, Denver.
 
David E. Winchester, '05, lives in Virginia with his wife Erin and is currently serving as President of the Housestaff at the University of Virginia Health System.
 
Elizabeth Le, '06, is a Family Medicine Resident at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, FL.
